Introducing Myself

Hi there,

I thought I would take the time to introduce myself and explain why I decided to go into event photography.

Some of you may already know me by my maiden name, Victoria Hillman, I am a wildlife biologist, award winning photographer and National Geographic Explorer so you may be wondering why I would start up an event photography venture, well here is my story:

Up until a few years ago I would not have even thought about event and wedding photography to tell the truth, but then a couple of close friends approached me about photographing their wedding as they enjoyed my style of photography and felt comfortable around me. So, I agreed and actually had so much fun throughout the whole day, capturing all the little details and special moments for my friends whilst still being part of the day and celebrations. Then a few days later when I met up with them to give them the images they were so thrilled with them they suggested that I should seriously think about offering a event photography service.

A couple of weeks later I then posted their wedding photos onto Facebook and the response I received about them was incredible and started me thinking about the possibilities. Encouraged by my family and friends I agreed to give it a go, but decided to wait until I had completed a major research project first. So, a couple of years down the line I have finally got the ball rolling and set up this page and more recently my accompanying Facebook page.

The hardest part was deciding on the packages that I would offer and the prices as it is such a competitive area. Turning to my friends again, I asked lots of questions about what they would look for in a package and a photographer to capture their special day and came up with my two packages, a whole day and a half day. I wanted to offer affordable but professional packages that would be available to and appeal to everyone, especially with many couples on a budget and finally settled on £600 (whole day) and £300 (half day) that would include a USB stick of all the high resolution images.  Research has shown me that many people do not want an album or would prefer to make their own with other memories from the day, although I would certainly put together an album if a client wanted one (at the additional cost of the album), also offer prints, canvases and smaller items.

So, what do I offer as a photographer? Well, I bring years of developing my own creative style of photography in the field of nature and wildlife to events offering something that little bit different, whilst always capturing those specific images and details requested by my clients no matter how small. I am a friendly, out going person who will always put everything I have into your special day or event. Included in your package is a pre-event meeting to chat about specific requirements or any ideas that you have and how we can make them happen.

I am really excited to now be able to offer event photography and if you would like more details, or arrange a meeting please do not hesitate to contact me.

Best wishes

Victoria
